YAOXIAOSHU Vol.71: Look Out

The recent archaeological excavation at Sanxingdui was rather astonishing. It feels like if we keep digging, the mythological stories will become history. For instance, the celestial tree (Jianmu) in the Shan Hai Jing and a bronze ware unearthed from Sanxingdui cannot be said to be exactly the same; they are simply a perfect match. Directly elevate the book "Shan Hai Jing" from a collection of mythological stories to a history textbook. For instance, the bronze wares with human heads and bird bodies and the "Jumang" recorded in the Shan Hai JingOriental Jumang, with a bird's body and a human's face, rides two dragonsThey look very similar. What are these? Were they ancient humans or gods? What are we? Is it a copy of the game or a cycle? Just thinking about it is terrifying!

The most astonishing thing I know in Sanxingdui is a bronze mask. Huge eyes and ears, especially the columns protruding from the eyes. Every time I make eye contact with him through the screen, I always have a feeling of being "taken away". After looking up some information, I found that this image might be a deity called "Zongmu" depicted in the Shan Hai Jing (I like this deity).

Look at these histories and think about the present. It feels like the life we've been struggling with is truly just a fleeting moment and a grain of sand in history.

YAOXIAOSHU Vol.70: Reach for Your Ideals

When I was a child, I always liked to sit by the pond and watch the stars on hot summer nights.
At that time, the sky was still clear and the Milky Way could still be seen. Standing up and reaching out my hand, I felt as if I could scoop out stars from this upside-down Milky Way to fulfill my wish.

After growing up and going to a big city, I was always busy every day, and there were more and more things weighing on me. I was so busy hurrying along that I seldom looked up at the sky again. Looking up by chance, I no longer saw that river. All I could see were dazzling billboards and tall buildings that blocked out the sky.

Gradually, I felt that I had lost myself in this steel jungle. Having become caged cattle and horses, shackled with mortgage and car loans, they can only fill their stomachs with takeout food every day. The rest is just going around in circles over these dozen kilometers.

I'm going to run away and go to a very, very high mountain. Stand on tiptoe and reach the star in my heart.

YAOXIAOSHU Vol.69: Take a break

I caught a cold a few days ago and have no energy at all. Feeling weak all over, with a runny nose, sneezing and coughing. I feel like I'm going to die and have lost interest in everything. I didn't pay attention to maintenance usually, so I guess I've fallen for it this time.

Starting a business is like a person pulling a cartload of people in an off-road rally on a foggy night.

When setting off, we were full of confidence and made all kinds of preparations and expectations. However, we expected to encounter some difficulties. But when I really got off the track and drove for a while, I found that there were problems with my physical strength, endurance and tools. Then solve various problems, keep emerging various problems, and keep solving them. If you take the wrong direction halfway, you still need to adjust it in time, keep making decisions and fix the result. Also, to boost the morale of the students on the bus, depict the scene after successfully reaching the finish line to prevent anyone from jumping off the bus halfway.

Even so, the ups and downs of the entrepreneurial process and the anticipation of the end are still very addictive. This stage has ended. Take a break and adjust.
The next stage continues...

YAOXIAOSHU Vol.68: Don't Follow Alcohol

In this era, keeping a clear mind is more important than ever. When you choose not to be controlled by alcohol, you not only protect your liver but also showcase your wise and refined charm. After all, decisions made when sober are often more reliable.

Don't try to prove your presence or show off your strength with alcohol at a party. Truly remarkable people can win everyone's affection with their unique insights and sense of humor even without drinking alcohol. Independent thinking is the true way to go. Alcohol can only make you temporarily forget your troubles but cannot actually solve problems.

Choosing not to be carried away by alcohol means you have enough courage to face every difficulty in life. When you can smile at life, you will find that those obstacles that once seemed insurmountable are just small stones on the way forward.

So, don't follow alcohol. Please stay clear-headed, think independently, smile at life and refuse to sink into despair.

YAOXIAOSHU Vol.67: Give Yourself a Boost

If business is motivated by making money, ideals are motivated by beliefs. Then, making money while standing can only rely on self-encouragement and hypnosis (dreaming).

Many times, many voices tell me that you should just go straight for money. Just treat this as a business. It's not shameful to make quick money. Especially in today's society, everyone is quite anxious. No one has the time to grow up with you. Quickly generate traffic, carry out marketing and offer discounts to collect a wave. Whether it's a brand or not, and whether it's an idea or not. If a brand is ruined, just sell it directly. Then Next... Or, you can just dress up and pretend to be a "master of art". Try hard to join the mysterious organization, get along in a circle, and then strive to sell yourself at a high price.

It can only be said that all these "principles" are understood, but values do not allow it.

Bro, I just want to try and see if I can make money standing up in this society and realize my idea without being in a hurry. Can there still be room for idealists? Are there any similar ones?
Give yourself a gas and keep going until the end...

YAOXIAOSHU Vol.66: Let Yourself Go

What kind of design is this? It offers a high-end body and a mid-range brain when one is young. When the mind reaches the maximum level, the body switches to the "energy-saving mode". Why do people's minds become increasingly rich as they age, but their bodies become weaker and weaker?

I think this should be the iterative mechanism of this world, providing a fair chance for those who come after. If one's body and mind become stronger and stronger, the strong will always get stronger, and the latecomers will never be able to compete with their ancestors. The world was gradually solidified and lost its vitality. Thanks to this mechanism, seniors can be willing to pass on their knowledge and experience to those who follow, and this cycle repeats itself.

So, life is a journey that the body and the soul walk together. When it's almost the right time, it's time to part ways and let yourself go.

YAOXIAOSHU Vol.65: Becoming a Demon or a Buddha

Recently, my indecision over a matter has made me feel both obsessed and indifferent. The two spirits alternate with each other, recurring repeatedly and constantly transforming. It's obvious that I'm just an ordinary person and haven't practiced enough. I can't be a pure demon or a Buddha, although I believe that pure demons and Buddhas are both supreme realms.

But reason, cognition, morality and the greed, anger and ignorance of being human all influence me. I do have very strong goals, and it seems that I also have an obsession that I can't let go of, but it's only temporary. I haven't developed an endless demonic nature yet. And when the demonic nature in my heart accumulates to a certain extent, the power of moral choice and the Buddha nature of seeking inner light are unlocked, allowing me to break free from the control of negative emotions and desires. Then my self-attachment vanishes, and then it alternates and repeats.

Human nature is generally complex. Becoming a demon or a Buddha can happen in an instant. So, dependent origination, emptiness of nature.

YAOXIAOSHU Vol.64: Little Tree

Little Tree, this is my nickname for my classmate Little Tree. When he was very young, he began to shout. As he kept Shouting, he grew into a small tree. I think this will become a secret code between us. If one day someone calls him like this, it must be his father.

Today is Father's Day. I asked him if he had any memories before he was four years old. He said there was a vague one, which was in a riverside park...

Yes, at that time, Xiaoshu was about two years old. Still not very good at walking, just learning to walk. I held his clothes in both hands and taught him. He felt safe and then began to walk forward quickly, faster and faster, just when he was about to fall. I took the opportunity to raise him above my head with both hands and held him in my arms, drawing a few circles in the air. He's looking at me... Giggle... A smile. After a while, I put him down. A giant cargo ship passed by on the river. He pointed at the boat and shouted forcefully, "Uh..." .."

After the little tree was born, it felt as if a switch in my mind had been turned on, switching me to father mode and unable to be turned off.

YAOXIAOSHU Vol.63: Rainbow Fart

Once, Teacher Luo was confused because the small cups of Star Coffee were called medium cups and the large cups were called super large cups.

At that time, as a sallow, Niu Ma was also confused about the evaluation system in the company, because here: it was generally called "very good", and "very good" was called "close to perfect". The first time I was evaluated like this, I once thought I had reached the peak of my life. Everyone's evaluation of my work is actually so high. Everyone began to doubt that they didn't do well in primary school Chinese. They had set too high standards for themselves before.

It was not until the appearance of the word "rainbow fart"...

It turned out that in order to maintain a seemingly harmonious and pleasant communication atmosphere, everyone began to praise exaggeratedly and without limit. In such an atmosphere, objective feedback and constructive suggestions will be marginalized, replaced by hypocritical praise for the sake of pleasing and catering to others, and trust among people will be constantly weakened. The proliferation of "rainbow farts" can distort people's values. In a culture that overly emphasizes external performance and immediate feedback, genuine abilities and efforts often become nothing.

People all like to be praised, but they hope even more that the praise is sincere. "Approaching perfection" should be the goal and motivation to strive for, rather than a senseless compliment.

So, a rainbow-colored fart is just a fart.

YAOXIAOSHU Vol.62: It's not Fun When you grow up

It's the annual Children's Day again, and Xiaoshu is very happy. This year, I've decided to give him a gift that can fly in the air - a drone. He can be carried by a drone to experience the feeling of flying like a bird, looking down and discovering the world, and feeling free...

It's quite touching. Nowadays, children are all playing with toys that I once never dared to imagine. The toys I remember are tin frogs and tanks. That era has gone and will never return. While feeling nostalgic, I also think that this generation of kids is rather pitiful. They can't experience the joy of catching fish and shrimp in the river, picking wild fruits and catching grasshoppers on the mountain, swimming naked with a group of playmates and burying themselves in the wild grass of autumn.

But I hope the little tree is happy, at least in its childhood.

Because I know what I will face when I grow up. The complex society and human nature, the fierce competition with no bottom line, the collapse and reconstruction of values, the loss of self and the search for the direction of the future, the meaning of existence, why to make money, and the growth after a breakup. A sense of identity within a group, etc. These problems will accompany him until middle age. It was not until he realized that he was just a human being, a grain of sand in The Times.

I once tried to tell him in advance, but when I recalled my young and impetuous self, I was so reluctant to listen to the advice of adults. So it was still decided to let him freely experience his own life.

I'll tell him: Just have a good time now, because it won't be fun when you grow up...
