YAOXIAOSHU Vol.31: A Habit

I have a habit that might be bad, which is that I like to cross my legs. And it's the habitual type where the left leg touches the right leg. And it's not just about putting it on; the foot of the left leg should be hooked onto the lower leg of the right leg. Viewed from the side, it looks like a twisted dough.

I usually don't do this. But there is one situation that is rather serious, which is when you are thinking about something but can't figure it out. There has been an analysis of what the reason is. Perhaps it's because when I'm thinking, the tension in my brain is transmitted to my body. Then, the body will find a position that it considers safe to tense up. So that the brain can be more focused. Over time, it became a habit.

So I think everyone has habits that are different from others. As long as they don't interfere with others, that's fine.

YAOXIAOSHU Vol.30: Give Yourself an Encouragement

By accident, I've already reached the 30th issue, which can be regarded as a small milestone in the process of shaking the little tree.

For someone like me who loves freedom, it's still quite difficult to keep doing one thing. Just take a look at my own weight loss plan and you'll know that form outweighs substance. It's just a fleeting enthusiasm. But in this regard, Xiaoshu did better than me. It seems that this shortcoming was not inherited.

Another problem is that I'm a perfectionist. In the Internet environment, a perfectionist would be a disaster for doing the act of shaking a small tree. Because you can't think one thing through completely. But when one doesn't feel very satisfied, it can be very perplexing. For instance, the previous form of shaking the little tree with text and illustrations seemed okay to me, but after a while, it wasn't very smooth. Eventually, I changed it to a form of sound and illustrations. There might still be changes later on.

But I'm still very glad to have reached the 30th issue. So I rewarded myself with a pair of bookshelf speakers as an encouragement.

YAOXIAOSHU Vol.29: Learning to Swim

Nowadays, children all learn to swim in swimming pools. I learned swimming in the reservoir.

One summer vacation, the weather was extremely hot. The sun is particularly strong at noon. In the afternoon, the adults would get ready to take a bath at the reservoir and also take us kids there. The sun had been shining for most of the day, and by the afternoon, the water wasn't very cold. Back then, there were no swimsuits or trunks; everyone swam naked. The children are in the shallow water area. The adults are in the deep water area. There is no standard life buoy. Use the inner tubes of truck tires as lifebuoys and rubber boats. Swimming is all about imitation, and the water splashes are particularly big. After several attempts, I finally learned it. But it was only when I grew up that I realized. The name of the swimming stroke I learned when I was a child was "Dog Paddle".

YAOXIAOSHU Vol.28: A Fish

I heard a sentence recently. It is said that life actually has no meaning. Then, in order to make one's life meaningful, one has to find some meaningful things to do. Then make your life meaningful. This sentence is a bit hard to pronounce. But upon careful consideration, it seems that this is indeed the case. It feels quite depressing to be meaningful just for the sake of it. But isn't that it? Otherwise, why would you come to this world?

In fact, very few people have been able to find that matter. If that thing could be done, there would be even less. If it can be made, then it will be as fine as phoenix feathers and unicorn horns.

The person who said this has already seen life very clearly. It's probably hard for anyone to think it through clearly before the age of 30. The meaning of life lies in your own definition. You can choose to be ambitious or to be a fish. The years are peaceful and quiet.

YAOXIAOSHU Vol.27: Moments of Fear

Is there any terrifying scene from a TV drama that left a deep impression on you?

When I was a child, my family lived in the family compound of my workplace, which was surrounded by walls. My parents work at the office and often hold meetings in the evening to study the "meeting spirit". So sometimes, all the adults in the family compound would go to the auditorium for a meeting. That courtyard became particularly quiet. Sometimes my parents would take me along if I fell asleep earlier. They will leave me at home.

Once, I woke up in the middle of the night and found that there was no one in the room and it was very dark. I just want to turn on the TV and secretly take a look. After turning on the TV, at first, the screen was filled with the noise of a snowflake. When it becomes clear, there is a scene of an old grandma in a horror film. It was just this one scene that left a clear impression on me over the following dozen years.

YAOXIAOSHU Vol.26:520

What is 520?

It was the string in the middle of the table when I was a teenager. The neat handwriting on the exercise book and the ponytail swinging back and forth on the way home from school. It's the rubber band during the break and the blue and white school uniform

It was the stop of Bus No. 120 in the winter of Beijing when I was young, on rainy days. It's a dilapidated bungalow with trees in the courtyard within the Second Ring Road. It's a big pancake from Chaonai Market. It's every embrace that rushes out from the street corner. It's Yanjing and grilled skewers. It's a bench in the old courtyard at midnight. Which wandering magazine is it?

It was the corridor of the obstetrics and gynecology hospital in middle age, the first time I held his excitement and his smile at me. It was the first time I called him "Dad". Which sentence is it, "Bring him to this world to save me"...

Don't have too much pressure. When pressure comes, many troubles will also follow. The world is not perfect, neither people nor things. We need to learn to accept this. Impulse is the sharpness of youth; what is needed now is calmness and composure.

Don't care about others' opinions. When you want to stop, please take a deep breath to slow yourself down. Then relax your whole body and listen to your inner self. Don't force it.

YAOXIAOSHU Vol.24: Take Off

In this society, it's unknown when 35 years old became a watershed in a man's life. It seems that after this age, if one doesn't get a position, buy a few houses or drive a good car, This person is about to be labeled as a failure and be despised by others.

YAOXIAOSHU Vol.23: The New Age of Navigation

When Xiaoshu was about four years old. I asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up. He said he wanted to be an astronaut. So I bought him a Lego version of the Saturn V and spent four days assembling it. I gave it to him as a gift. I hope he can have the opportunity to achieve his small goals.

If I were to go back a few years, I would think that being a scientist might be a bit more achievable than being an astronaut. However, in recent years, with the development of aerospace technology, followed by China's lunar exploration and the launch of its space station. spacex's Falcon rocket and Marcos' Mars occupation plan. It suddenly made me feel that there might be a chance to see another moon landing in my lifetime. The generation of Xiaoshu is sure to witness, and perhaps even witness, humans landing on Mars. So, it seems that becoming an astronaut is still possible.

The next few decades might mark the beginning of the era of interstellar voyages...

YAOXIAOSHU Vol.22: Look close to the water Surface.

When you are in a swimming pool or a bathtub, do you look close to the water surface? If there is no suggestion, give it a try. There will be a different and wonderful feeling.

The first time I did this was when I was a child and secretly went swimming in the reservoir with older kids.

Back then, the water was very clear. Because I was still young and not tall enough, when I jumped in, the water covered my neck and my line of sight was just parallel to the water surface. Immediately, it felt as if the entire world had been compressed and divided into two Spaces, upper and lower. You can see both the world on the water and the environment underwater. Above, the sun shines brightly and the water sparkles; below, it is quiet, harmonious, profound and mysterious. The sounds around suddenly became very faint, while the voice in my heart grew very loud.
I really like this feeling. It can instantly block out distractions and weaken other senses. You are like standing at a crossroads, facing two worlds alone. You can choose to dive down or float up.

Then, in the sea, swimming pool and bathtub, he likes to be buried in the water, leaving only one pair of eyes to see the world.
